20th anniversary re-issue of Goblin’s eerie, bump-in-the-night score for George Romero’s classic Dawn of the Dead (Zombi in Italy). Some real classic Seventies moments reminiscent of Superfly but significantly darker. Right up there with Tangerine Dream’s soundtrack to Friedkin’s Sorcerer, this is one of my absolute favorites. The first track alone kills it. Enjoy!

Les Rallizes Dénudés
Otoko No Hadakarizu
Private01-05 (5 CDR set)
Little to no info on this one. Supposedly first-generation live Les Rallizes Dénudés recordings from between ’73-’82, hand-drawn CDRs in criminally limited quantities of 50 or less. Unfortunately, I’m not such the Dénudés aficionado that I could tell you where else the tracks appear in their oeuvre. Some hints on an archive of Johan Wellens’ killer Tiliqua Records site can be found here (only 3 of the 5, releases #37-39). Special thanks to my friend Piotr for floating this to me back in Japan. In two parts:
Popol Vuh
Die Große Ekstase des Bildschnitzers Steiner (The Great Ecstasy Of The Sculptor Steiner)
Dir. by Werner Herzog, 1974
I’ve looked around a lot for a release with the music from this Herzog short film, but have yet to find anything. If any of you know where to find it, please advise…
I basically recorded this right out of the DVD player. Pretty short, only about 6min long, but classic Popol Vuh all the way.
