Then on Saturday, June 30th in Brooklyn at 7pm, I’ll be screening a program of Super 8mm films at Microscope Gallery, featuring music created by Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, Gregg Kowalsky and Barn Owl. Included films will be SPHINX ON THE SEINE, CHORUS, UNION, LIGHT FROM THE MESA and COMPOUND EYES. Admission is $6. Maggi Payne is Co-Director of the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College, Oakland. She has been writing and performing music since the 70s and has performed her works all over the world. Her latest release (a retrospective of previously unreleased material), Ahh-Ahh Music For Ed Tannenbaum’s Technological Feets 1984-1987, is out now on Root Strata.
