Krishnamacharya – 1938 0

Sri Tirumala Krishnamacharya (1888–1989) was the teacher of both BKS Iyengar & K. Pattabhi Jois, which means that basically he’s responsible for the vast majority of the Hatha Yoga that’s currently practiced in the west. He’s fifty in this video.

Belong – October Language 0

Warm fuzz evoking comparisons to Fennesz and Tim Hecker, New Orleans’ Belong have turned the sticky heat of the South into something aurally tangible, at least to these ears. I’ve had October Language on pretty heavy rotation the past few months and it’s still melting my brain.

This Heat With Mario Boyer Diekuuroh 1

MP3

This originally appeared as a cassette-only release in France in 1982, later reissued on CD by Canterbury Dream. The Heat dudes teamed up with guest percussionist and flutist Mario Boyer Diekuuroh. The second track is…ehh. But the first track I love.
Dig it.

The Holy Mountain (SoundTrack) 2

Zip

Cant say I’m really a fan of Jodororsky’s films..a little too Catholic for me. But the Soundtrack to Holy Mountain is pretty nice. And Don Cherry is all over it.  Sweet!
