    Merci!

I really appreciate all the tapes but I have a request. Could you increase the bit rate on the recordings and have the output in mp3 files instead of Audacity? thanks

  3. Jefre on May 19th, 2009

Currently, Audacity is the only program i have to do these with. They are mp3 files, but I will try and increase the bit rate. Actually, this is the last one I have, so unless I get anymore, this is it for a while.

i am usually a bugger about mp3 bitrates but since these files originated as a dubbed cassette, and the music itself is not super high fidelity, i dont really care if it’s at 128. as of now i have 19 volumes. Do you know if that is all they’ve done or are they putting out more? I love them all, especially the soul tapes and the Everything Crash reggae tape.

oh! don’t sweat jef! got a few more on the way soon. Two of the new tapes are just straight up kinks mixes.

now only vol.9 left, if i’m correct!
    biggest thanks.
    bring it on!

They are up to Vol.27, with 25 and 26 being kinks mixes, 24 and 27 being more jamaican stuff. I have never actually seen volumes 20 through 23, but believe me I am looking. It seems like the elusive thirteenth volume finally surfaced about the same time as the newest tapes. Last few tapes have a new style cover, somewhere between the hand written/drawn covers of most of the tapes, but not the full color photograph based style of 9-12, though one of the Kinks tapes does have color, as does the 13th tape, which has a cover more akin to the newest tapes. Wow, this is total tape nerd thesis material yo.
