Drive Like Jehu

Jehu were punishing, so good. Saw them twice touring behind Yank Crime and they slayed. That record holds up well.

Man, must be something in the air. For reasons I’m not quite sure of, went through youtube looking for similar material all last week. May have been due to finally reading/seeing some (and generally being impressed by) Mars Volta. Didn’t realize a handful of folks from SD and TX who were involved in the Gravity and then GSL, etc. scenes had passed away…a shame but not so much of a surprise given the popularity of H in those parts during the mid to late 90s.

A bit of a surprise to see that here – lovely stuff.

completely stoked to see all this stuff… man.. I KNOW there’s better quality video of almost all of this shit! I had a sec where I was living at the home of one of the ex-antioch dudes and man.. COMPLETELY AMAZING AA videos there.. the energy in this you tube guy is captured pretty well, but.. man.. that band was way way way off the chain..

seems like almost all the old SD freaks still doing stuff have moved up to portland.. well, not SD, but.. GRAVITY, got dudes from Angel Hair here, Fucking Angels.. 3/5th or Antioch Arrow.. STOKED.. Aaron Montaigne and Mac Mann have started a new band.. pretty curious to hear it.

man.. there are some crucial vacancies from that thread.. no Tonie Joy? DUDE OWNED the 90s. UOA!

    and Unwound!
