Tsuchiya produced that song and the rest of the album (Sakamoto only plays on “Kafka”). It’s a correction worth noting because Tsuchiya and Ippu-Do were successful without the help of YMO!

ah, you’re right. looking at the liners Sakamoto merely arranged “Kafka”…for some reason i remembered him co-arranging the only album (Hideki Matsutake did the programming however). thanks for the correction.

Tsuchiya related, this book/flexi combo is really cool:

thank you so so much for this. i’ve been checking this blog for interesting things / music / art or whatever for years and this has to be one of the best posts (not that everything else isn’t good too!). i hadn’t heard any of this before but 20 seconds into parallelisme and i was in love.

I was directing some friends to this fabulous mix, and discovered the link was broken.

I uploaded it for them, and thought I’d leave the links here also:

Nice compilation. Thank you. Just getting ready to buy a USB turntable and digitize all my Japanese vinyl. I pulled a couple cartons out of storage and spun a few things tonight. Matsutake’s Logic System “Venus”, Chris Mosdell’s “Equasian,” and Takahashi’s and Suzuki’s Beatniks. Love this stuff.

Tasty. This will help sate my desire for ‘J-ambi-pop’.

I was very late in finding this. An impeccable compilation. (Most of it new-to-me, though I have a ton of YMO-related stuff.) I can’t wait to follow all these new leads. THANKS!

I wish this comp was still on Mediafire! I just tried to find it from memory of the track list, but now no luck!
