Andrew Wyeth R.I.P.

“Christina’s World,” painted in 1948, shows a disabled Maine neighbor who drags herself through a field toward her house in the distance. The painting, displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, has been regarded as Wyeth’s most popular.”

total bummer. christina’s world is one of my favorite paintings of all time. when i was young, before i knew the story behind the painting, i would always imagine my own stories for what she was doing in the middle of the field, looking up the hill towards the prairie home.
